With hotel and resort properties, we all know that the perception of quality begins with the guests’ first glimpse of the property.  With new property developments in our area booming, a hotel must look fresh and contemporary, and fit in with it’s surroundings.  When it comes to choosing lodging, it’s often a case of “love at first sight” for customers.  If the outside of a property is worn or outdated, potential customers may move on and never see the quality and beauty of the inside.

According to Hotel & Resort Industry Magazine, in 1993 twenty Howard Johnson properties experienced a 10% increase in walk-in business after their exteriors were refurbished as part of an enhancement, with dramatic improvement in curb appeal and sales running 25% ahead of their previous year and “...customer satisfaction and increased referrals from area competitors are the result of our new exterior…” stated one manager.

AWR recently undertook the exterior building alteration project at the Wynwood Towers, now known as the Travel Lodge Suites at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
